Per Judith Merril's introduction in <a href="https:///www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/pl.cgi?29756">SF: 57</a>, it was published in 1956 in the Canadian magazine <I>MacLean's</I> as "When Grandfather Flew to the Moon".
