Note: H.P.Lovecraft wrote a letter to Weird Tales in January, 1926 page 273: "I have lately read your December issue, and believe the general qualitative level is kept comendably high - we don't find any of the frank crudities that marked the earlier issues. Long's 'The Sea Thing' strikes me as the best tale, with Owen's 'The Fan' as a good second".
