1968ⓘ Signed "Verbeek", same as many of the interior illustrations, which some latterday publishers credit as by "Frank Verbeck", a variant spelling of "Frank Ver Beck". But <a href="https://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/se.cgi?arg=Frank%20Ver%20Beck&amp;type=Name&amp;mode=exact">Frank Ver Beck</a> is not the artist. The mistake may originate with Dover Publications, whose 1968 edition is the only one known to use one of the 1900 Gustave Verbeek illustrations on the cover.
