    • HathiTrust Digital Library provides full view of one copy without original cover: Title pages of both volumes display (quote three lines):   Written By Himself.   Copyright Edition.   In Two Volumes.--Vol. I. [or II] -- "Translator's Preface", I: p[iii]-v, closes "Lascelles Wraxall." and "Kensington, May, 1859." -- "Contents of Vol. I", p[vii]-x -- "The Overture", p[xi]-xiv, under heading "Saint Gervais, near Blois, September, 1858", closes "Without further hesitation I begin." -- chapters I-XIII span p[1]-293 -- Vol. II, chapters I-IX span p[1]-271 The HathiTrust file suggests that pp. [1]-4 are printed on four one-side leaves. Both volumes close with the presumable printer statement: "C. Whiting, Beaufort House, Strand." (no other back material).
    • Two 1859 editions? British Library (BL, below) identifies the translator only in that record BL 003115974 which does not state "Copyright edition", thus: : "[Translated by Sir F. C. L. L. Wraxall, Bart.]" WorldCat record OCLC 1008343809 may also report an 1859 edition distinct from the Copyright Edition.
