  • Type: ANTHOLOGY
  • Notes:
    • While originally published, anonymously, in 1823, this publication of "A Visit from St. Nicholas" is the first one to be formally attributed to Clement C. Moore. The poem appears on pp. 217-219.
    • Listed as published in 1837, but the "advertisement" at the beginning is dated as Dec. 24, 1836, and refers to the great haste in which they were trying to get it out. (Which led an extremely large number of typographical errors.) Thus it may have been released in late Dec. 1836, or else early Jan. 1837, so it was available during the holiday season.
    • Data from Christie's Auction House and from Hathi Trust, which includes links to the full text. The full text is also available from three links at the Hathi Trust record, and from Google Books.
