    • First edition, second state. Teerink's "AA" state, also referred to as state "2A". Published in mid-November, 1726.
    • The "AA" state is identifiable from the following points: The general title to Volume II notes "second edition," and the special title to Part IV has "Voyage" in lower case (it is all in upper case in edition "A"); the engraved portrait of Gulliver has lettering around the oval frame (first state has the caption below the picture).
    • Copies of this edition exist where Vol. 4 is from the Teerink "B" edition.
    • This edition is now generally viewed by scholars as a third edition (not as a third printing of the first edition), but was traditionally viewed as part of the first edition. See Swift's "Bibliographic Comments" for further details.
