Illustrations appear to be by one artist; almost all (15?) are signed "Arthur H. Buckland" (exceptions opposite p. 74, 91, 226); several clearly signed over date 1900 (opposite p43) or 1901 (frontispiece)
Some online booksellers and some WorldCat library records identify Buckland as illustrator of the novel, or Buckland and John Hassall as co-illustrators (
