    • HathiTrust Digital Library provides full view of two copies including one from University of Wisconsin (UW) with the original cover and publisher's catalogue. (The NYPL copy lacks both, but appears to be identical to its final printed page, p[404], which names the printer.) Title page notes "with four illustrations by Phillys Vere Campbell" (correctly spelled). Illustrations, p.xi, lists 4 (frontispiece, clearly signed "Phillys ..." and 3 plates not included in the pagination). "Publications of William Rider & Son", numbered pages 1-16, follows the printer statement, p[404]. Publication date as "Ready March 25" and price are from the listing of this book, page 14 (UW, image 444).
    • Spring publication is confirmed by the lead review in "Fiction", The Scotsman 1912-04-12 p2, and a listing in "Fiction" (received or published?), The Observer -04-14 p5. The Times of India lists the Rider edition, price 6s., in "Books Received" 1912-05-08 p9; and reviews it in "New Novels" -06-05 p9.
