English translation by Alan Meyers According to Locus #231 (March 1980), this printing was recalled due to an "inaccurate" blurb on the back cover (the authors "...are now in disfavor with the Soviet government for the bold, outspoken ideas expressed in this novel.") Distribution was halted and bookstores that had received copies were asked to return them to the publisher for destruction. Cover artist is not credited. A small part of Larkin's signature (B over N) is visible in the lower left corner of the back cover.
