Welcome!

Hello, Mythicdelirium, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! BLongley 01:35, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

Mythic Delirium 1

Thanks for submitting what I hope is the first of many issues! I've made a few adjustments to conform to ISFDB standards, you can see the results here. Basically I added the issue number so that it will appear separately from any other issues like Number 20 (a stub record I created to record the Rhysling Award Winner). You seem to have got all the titles and author names in nicely standard format already, which is frankly quite unusual, well done! BLongley 01:55, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

Minor questions - are you in a position to grant us permission to lift the cover image from mythicdelirium.com ? If not, we'd rather have a local copy uploaded, or a link to an approved site, than end up accused of "bandwidth theft". And for The Reluctant Heretic (from "Inquisition Sonnets"), is "from Inquisition Sonnets" actually part of the title, or is it a comment on where else it has been published? If the latter, we'd want to record "Inquisition Sonnets" as a separate collection or anthology with that as one of the contents. (We do try to be very complete.) Thanks for contributing! BLongley 01:55, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

I am indeed in a position to grant that permission. Permission granted! Mythicdelirium 00:06, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
OK, I'll try and remember where I am supposed to record that permission so that every other Mod knows to allow such. Thanks! BLongley 00:59, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
And "from Inquisition Sonnets" is part of the title. I didn't see this stuff till after I uploaded Issue 2 information, will adjust accordingly. Mythicdelirium 00:06, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
We can't spot new editors just from account creation, we have to wait for actual submissions and then we'll jump on them with (hopefully helpful) welcomes and pointers to the help pages, and then offer advice. You're unusually good for a beginner, did you actually read our help before you started? BLongley 00:59, 28 September 2011 (UTC)

I did! Mythicdelirium 04:22, 28 September 2011 (UTC)

Mythic Delirium 2-4

Thanks for these! As before, pretty good submissions and I only made minor changes: a "." after the "P" in Deborah P. Kolodji and a space after "J." for J. W. Donnelly and after the "K." for K. S. Hardy. The software can cope with slight differences in case but isn't so good with punctuation. :-/ BLongley 01:20, 28 September 2011 (UTC)

I adjusted "$5" to "$5.00" to conform with our standard - I'm not sure why we have that standard, but I'm English and understand as much of the reasoning as there is behind our entries for "Pounds, Shillings and Pence" for older British publications. BLongley 01:20, 28 September 2011 (UTC)

As to "I added four too many content fields and couldn't figure out how to remove them. Sorry about that!" - don't worry, we wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't mentioned it, the software removed the excess for us anyway. I think there is a problem if you leave an entirely blank entry and still have some more after that - the software stops at the end of the list or at the first blank entry, so it's best not to leave a gap. BLongley 01:20, 28 September 2011 (UTC)

Anyway, I look forward to the rest of your submissions, you're a pleasure to work with so far. BLongley 01:20, 28 September 2011 (UTC)

Well, thank you! (I submitted one more before I saw these.) Mythicdelirium 04:23, 28 September 2011 (UTC)

Typical...

... You wait two weeks for another issue to come along, give up waiting and make your own way, then it arrives! :-/ I've been entering stubs for all the missing issues today - see here so please work on adjusting those rather than submitting totally new editions - and let ME know where I went wrong. I'll try and tidy up the issues we crossed on. Thanks for coming back to it! BLongley 21:36, 16 October 2011 (UTC)

"illustration" is a bit too vague - please use the name of the story it illustrates, or if it's not illustrating any particular story, give it the name of the caption, or if it doesn't even have that, add the name of the publication it's in as a suffix. BLongley 21:51, 16 October 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for the page numbers and illustrations for Issue 22. As above, please consider a better name than "illustration". And regular columns like "Myths & Delusions" should have the name of the publication it's in as a suffix - it would save space here to merge them all, but somebody might want to add details about what each particularly essay was about, so we try and disambiguate them. BLongley 23:31, 16 October 2011 (UTC)
Also, Tim Millins looks suspiciously like a typo for Tim Mullins, can you double-check please? BLongley 21:51, 16 October 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for the notes! Will fix to conform. --Mythicdelirium 04:30, 17 October 2011 (UTC)
