Welcome!

Hello, JenniferRP, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!--Dirk P Broer 07:59, 9 September 2018 (EDT)

Your submissions

Hi, I've approved your submissions, but had to change some things with all three. 1. The currency. We're an international database, so you need us to supply with a currency sign to. We do not default to $. 2. The ISBN number You entered a ISBN-10 for all three titles. That would have been just fine, provided they were published before 2007. From that year on we have ISBN-13 codes. Lastly, I completed the third book of your series with info I found on Amazon (publisher, page numbers) and added links to the Amazon cover art for all three (which you can replace with scans of your own, if you want). I hope you like the result,--Dirk P Broer 08:05, 9 September 2018 (EDT)

CreateSpace as publisher

Hi-- I have had to change the publisher credit on some of your novels. This is the note on the publisher page for CreateSpace: "Since CreateSpace is more of a printer than a publisher we no longer add CreateSpace as a publisher. Instead, we use the publisher statement used in the book (if there is one) or use the author's name (to indicate self-published) if there is not one." So, accordingly, I have changed your books' publisher from "CreateSpace" to "Jennifer R. Povey." --Vasha (cazadora de tildes) 20:32, 8 December 2018 (EST)

Image Permissions & Imprint

In your last submission, you asked "I tried to use a picture from my own website, and it said that you don't have permission to link to it on another book. How do I grant said permission? Also, how do I add my imprint to your database?" I will let Ahasuerus (he basically runs the site) know that you wish to grant permission to use images from your site. As for the imprint question, I assume you mean Aitune Press? That was automatically created once the pub submission was accepted. -- JLaTondre (talk) 11:11, 7 March 2020 (EST)

Your site has been added to list of approved sites for image linking. Thanks. -- JLaTondre (talk) 16:02, 8 March 2020 (EDT)

The Secret History of Victor Prince

A few things about this one:

  • Publication series is used for series which are strictly from a publisher (such as Science Fiction Masterworks and so on). Title/story series go only on the title level
  • pb is for American style mass market paperback. Anything bigger, including the new tall/premium mass market paperbacks is recorded as "tp"
  • We need a currency symbol when adding any prices - we are an international DB.
  • When copying a synopsis from somewhere, we need it to be attributed and dated. See what I did here

Thanks for adding this one and let me know if you have any questions and/or concerns. Annie 17:13, 11 October 2021 (EDT)
