Welcome!

Hello, Gipiquadro, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Stonecreek 12:44, 11 November 2017 (EST)

Your submissions

Thanks for contributing. I have put two of your submissions that are obviously for the same publication on hold. In one you credited Walter Catalano + Gian Filippo Pizzo (I presume that is you?), in the other just the first. Which one is correct. There's also no entry in the field format. Could you specify it (do it right here with your answer)? Thanks, Stonecreek 12:53, 11 November 2017 (EST)

After some research I found the book at amazon.it and accepted one of your submissions (I rejected the others). I did some additions to meet the standards of ISFDB. Stonecreek 11:16, 15 November 2017 (EST)

Notturno alieno: 22 racconti fantanoir

Hello, I've approved your submission but had to make some changes to conform to our standards:

  • simplified the title to Notturno alieno.
  • added decimals to the price.
  • uploaded a scan of the cover as we're not authorized to deeplink to the specified website.

The result is here. Note that the fact that you entered only your text and not the 21 others is considered as self-serving and is percieved as denoting less than good manners. So it would be nice for you to enter the other texts and any other relevant information about the book (e.g. its printing rank or its cover artist). Hauck 13:40, 26 March 2018 (EDT)

Hi,

I don't know if this is the way to replay, so I tray however. I asked the autors of single short storys to complete the data, I hope they do that. And, I don't know how upload the cover. Sorry for my English Gian Filippo

It's the correct way to answer. Our rules here state that ALL fiction should be included (and of course by the person that entered the publication), so I'm afraid that it's up to you to enter all the texts and not only your own prose (the more so because you declare owniong a copy of the book which may facilitate things).
For the cover, see the help pages linked to on the top of this page.
For the english, no problem, I'm french and we are slowly becoming an international outift.Hauck 11:50, 27 March 2018 (EDT)

Dizionario dei personaggi fantastici

Hello, I've approved your submission and had to make some changes to conform to our standards:

  • deleted synopsis that must be in english.
  • disambiguated essays.
  • uploaded a cover scan.

The result is here. Hauck 13:19, 27 March 2018 (EDT)

Hello! Salut

Dizionario dei personaggi fantastici

Hello, I accepted your edit (adding the price) but changed the currency symbol - we use "Lit" and not "L." for the Italian Lira. Thanks! Annie 15:52, 2 April 2018 (EDT)

Mondi paralleli

Hello,

You had two separate duplicate submissions for this title with the only difference being the image used. I rejected the earlier one and accepted the second one but had to do a few changes:

  • Adjusted the price from "€ 22,50" to "€22.50". We use dot as a decimal separator and no space is needed when the currency is identified by a symbol (so "€22.50" but "Lit 23,000")
  • I uploaded the cover in our DB - we cannot link to sites that are not specifically listed here
  • Added the name of the publication to the two Essays - as these are generic names, we add the publication name to them to differentiate them from other Introductions that the same author(s) had written for example.

The result is here. Please let me know if you have any questions and/or concerns. Annie 16:03, 2 April 2018 (EDT)

Nearly the same set of remarks for Il grande cinema fantasy (price, disambiguation, ISBN-13), can you confirm the format as "A4" is usually for fanzines printed on exact A4 (21 x 29.7 cms) sheets of paper (yours is peraphs best described as "tp") and the fact that Patrizia Marrocco is the cover ARTIST (she did draw the cover) vs. the cover DESIGNER (she assembled the pictures of the films). Thanks. Hauck 03:41, 3 April 2018 (EDT)
I've also approved your submission (at least one of them, do not submit twice, it just cloggs the system) for Contact!. Please take some time to try to better your submissions as they need a lot of work. Hauck 03:49, 3 April 2018 (EDT)

To Annie and Hauck: sorry for mistakes. I am new to isfdb and I need to improve my knowledge. The format of Il grande cinema (fantascienza and fantasy) is 20x26, how can I descrbe it?

If it's a "soft" cover, tp is correct.

And, Patrizia Marrocco is the DESIGNER, but I don't see where specify that!

We do not record this information.Hauck 11:36, 3 April 2018 (EDT)
