Bio for authors J._G._Sandom and T._K._Welsh (pseudonym)

T.K. Welsh is the pen name of J.G. Sandom, the author of eight novels including THE BLUE MEN, GOSPEL TRUTHS, THE HUNTING CLUB, THE PUBLICIST and THE WAVE.

Booklist called GOSPEL TRUTHS, "a spendid, tautly woven thriller ... (and) an intelligent mystery of tremendous spiritual and literary depth." Library Journal said," Sandom's masterful first novel, based on a true incident, spins a complicated web of corruption, greed, and deception that connects international banking, high Vatican officials, notorious fascist scoundrels, and the London Police ... By turns contemplative, descriptive, and emotive, this mixture of mystery and intrigue reveals intense preparation and fine writing." And the (New York Daily) News said, "GOSPEL TRUTHS is a monumental novel of suspense, almost epic in proportion ... complex, yet skillfully crafted."

Scott Turow, author of Presumed Innocent and Ordinary Heroes, called THE HUNTING CLUB, "A gripping story, well-told ... not only a tale of murder and betrayal, but an intelligent exploration of issues of male identity." Kirkus Reviews termed the book, "A Big Apple Deliverance, endowing New York culture with all the corrosively dehumanizing power of Dickey's wild nature ... Slickly entertaining right down to the last, inevitable twist. (Film rights to Warner Brothers -- and there's no mystery why.)" And Booklist said, "(Sandom) writes with stunning elegance and nearly poetic beauty ... A sure hit with any suspense reader."

While known mostly as a writer of thrillers and mysteries, J.G. Sandom is also the author of several Young Adult (YA) novels, penned under the name T. K. Welsh, including THE UNRESOLVED (August - 2006) and RESURRECTION MEN (April - 2007), both from Dutton/Penguin.

Horn Book Magazine called THE UNRESOLVED, "A decidedly unconventional ghost story ... (and) a tightly wound novel." Kirkus Reviews termed it, "A remarkable account." The Washington Post said, "Welsh (Sandom) writes with a precision and delicacy unusual for YA fiction." School Library Journal said, "THE UNRESOLVED tells a remarkable story in a remarkable way." And Romantic Times said, "THE UNRESOLVED is a book you shouldn't pass up."

J. is currently working on a new novel for Bantam, THE GOD MACHINE, to be published in the spring of 2008. Due to the publisher's keen interest in THE GOD MACHINE, Bantam/Dell (Random House) reissued GOSPEL TRUTHS on January 30th, 2007.

In addition to being a novelist, J. was an early Internet pioneer, and is often referred to as the "Father of Interactive Advertising." He founded the world’s first interactive advertising agency, Einstein and Sandom Interactive (EASI), in 1984. It grew to become the largest digital marketing services firm when it was purchased by DMB&B (MacManus Group) in 1994. Sandom continued to manage EASI on behalf of DMB&B through 1996.

From January 1997 through October 1999, Sandom served as Director of Interactive at OgilvyOne Worldwide where he grew the company from a loss of 2 million to an estimated 100 million U.S. dollars in revenues in 30 months, and from 12 “permalancers” to 650 digital marketing specialists worldwide; named “Number One Interactive Ad Agency” – 1999, by Advertising Age magazine.

From November 1999 through 2001, Sandom served as President and CEO, and then Vice Chairman of RappDigital Worldwide, the interactive arm of direct marketing/direct response agency giant Rapp Collins Worldwide, an Omnicom Company. Within a year of inception, RappDigital became one of the nation’s "Top Twenty" interactive ad agencies, according to Adweek magazine.

J. attended Amherst College in Massachusetts where he graduated with honors with a double major in English and philosophy. While in college, J. helped launch a literary magazine -- Writing at Amherst -- and won the Academy of American Poets Prize. He studied under a variety of “visiting writers,” including Robert Stone, Julian Symons and the Nobel Prize-winning poet Seamus Heaney.

Following graduation, J. spent several months traveling throughout the Sahara, primarily in southern Algeria, while working on the author’s first novel -- THE BLUE MEN. J. then moved to New York City where, for the next two decades, he worked as a freelance writer, advertising copy writer, PR executive, Web entrepreneur ... and novelist.

J. is an avid fly-fisherman and scuba diver. The single father of a six-year-old girl, the author currently resides near Princeton, New Jersey. Besides working full-time as a novelist, J. continues to consult from time to time in the world of interactive advertising, and serves as Chairman of CDIP, a holding company responsible for the launch of a variety of Web 2.0 Websites.
